Hr A MM v~" in the introduced subject headings. It seems that the realist made a completely different choice out of the available resolutions.45 si V. - -?■ 5 In the archive of the Hoge Regering, one 'year realia' is kept (see figure 3). Out of this the working method of the realist can be distilled. First, he created a chronological list of the most relevant decisions taken in one year, maybe directly at the end of the year. He most likely used the chronologically listed margins which were bound in front of the resolution books. However, because the texts of the marginalia and realia do not match, it can be assumed that he also read the resolution texts. Thus, the realia are the result of an interpretation of the resolutions by the realist. After he completed the chronological list of decisions, the realist added one or more keywords to each reference. In figure 3, this can be seen on the left of the first page. The realist chose the subject headings out of a standard keyword list, probably based on earlier usage. Most likely the administration used the year realia for several years as work copies at the City Hall before they were processed in the multiannual realia. The marks the realist put next to the keywords during this processing are still visible.
